Lowry by Ellie-May

Lowry painted loads of paintings most of them were based on Salford were he grew up. Lowry used to have something called a Looking Log  and would take it out of his pocket anytime he saw something interesting and would do a rough drawing of it and when he would get home he would turn it into a painting. He used different effects for his paintings he used to rub his finger over some shadings and spread them across the page to make it look like smoke. Here are some examples of his paintings.

In music, we learnt a song hat two men from Salford wrote for L.S Lowry this song talks about what kind of paintings Lowry made  and what people thought of his paintings before he was famous. One time when Lowry had to pay for milk he realised he didn’t have the write change so he said to the milkman would you like this painting instead the milkman said no think now how that milkman would feel write now he could have got a lot of money if he took it.
